Merj Where Fashion And Hip-hop Collide

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 4, 2012 - As part of the inaugural Cincinnati Open Design Event, the MERJ fundraiser for Elementz Hip Hop Arts Center is taking place on October 18, 2012. This evening celebration will showcase many of the disciplines that our youth learn and refine within the walls at Elementz as well as incorporate the facets of design.

WHAT C.O.D.E IS: (Cincinnati Open Design Event)

Cincinnati Open Design Event (CODE) is a four-day event expansively showcasing areas of fashion, graphic and interactive design. The inaugural event takes place October 17-20, 2012 in Cincinnati. Expect collaboration, great design and artistry through a series of parties,
workshops, exhibits and shows. Current sponsors include Diet Coke, LPK, University of
Cincinnati DAAP, Style Zen, Cincy Chic, and Righting Style.

Initiated in March of 2012, CODE is the creative collaboration between Mitchell’s Salon and Day Spa, Ionic Collective, fashion designer Amy Kirchen and Navarro Photography. This joint effort encompasses over 30 years of design experience – from creating to setting a standard.

ABOUT ELEMENTZ/

Elementz is a not-for profit organization that teaches music, dance and visual arts to urban youth. Elementz functions as a performance center for aspiring urban artists. A particular focus of Elementz is ―conscious‖ or ―socially conscious‖ hip hop — a subgenre of hip-hop that focuses on the positive social motifs of change, hope and respect. Elementz encourages the creation of a unique ―Cincinnati Sound‖ for its artists.
