Sometimes funny, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes poignant, sometimes thoughtful and almost always, in the face, 45 ml is meant to be taken with large doses of humour and human understanding. As Nair describes it, the book derives its title from the fact that "It's somewhere in the middle of heavy-duty and trivial, crazy and semi-serious, childlike and womanly, much like me. Most people think of adult poetry as being intellectual and heavy and much too intense. I wanted to do away with that view, so I started writing poetry that I would read or want my friends to read. Something that all of us could relate to, have a laugh over and maybe mull over when alone. 45 ml is my attempt to invite people who don't usually pick up poetry books into my world."
A Mass Communications post-graduate, Savita currently works in Mumbai as an advertising copywriter. When she is not writing, she enjoys traveling, musing about the little nothings, and taking mental notes on the beauty and absurdity of life. Deeply influenced by poets like Dorothy Parker and Ogden Nash, she looks forward to popularizing poetry as a medium of writing with the younger generation.
