Who let the dark out
Just one year is left for the 2010 Allied Victory Games to start in New Delhi. The onus of preparing for the successful hosting of the sports extravaganza lies on the Ministry of Urban Regeneration and Public Sculpture. It might seem strange but the responsibility is not assigned to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to be shouldered!
As it is, the whole thing has an appearance of contemporary sculpture – there is no knowing where the head starts and where the tail ends. The preparations are well behind the schedule and Takewondo is altogether left out of consideration. Consequently, the Ministry for Urban Regeneration and Public Sculpture is reduced to pandemonium. For media, it is a bone fiercely contended for.
On the one hand, Badrikedar Laxmanrao Dahake has to answer the irate prime minister and come to terms with intriguing Lok Sabha proceedings;
