PRLog - Oct. 3, 2012 - AUSTIN, Texas -- (AUSTIN)- Local business, Austin Communication Group Inc., has announced that they recently participated in a dodge ball tournament to raise funds for Operation Smile, a children’s medical charity. The dodge ball tournament was at the annual management retreat this year held in Miami, Flordia.
Austin Smith, President of Austin Communication Group Inc. ,was one of the six players on the winning team. Their team was able to raise $3,660 to donate to Operation Smile.
“No matter what the competition was, we were going to win,” said Smith. “The beauty of the event was that in the end, it’s the children who benefit and are the true champions!”
Sand volleyball was originally the tournament scheduled to play at Miami this year, but due to the weather they were forced to find another sport to host the event. The creative minds at work decided to turn a top floor banquet room of the hotel into a single elimination dodge ball tournament. There were 24 teams in total who participated.
Operation Smile is a non-profit organization that helps to heal children’s smiles and forever change their lives radically. The organization provides safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and clef palate.
