Oct. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- LONG ISLAND, NY:  The Long Island & Manhattan chapters of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women will co-present a special conference entitled “My Sister’s Keeper”, scheduled to be held on Saturday, October, 13, 2012 at 10:00AM at Molloy College-Hays Theatre.  This forum will feature personal stories regarding the impact of the recession on African American women and their families. Community leaders and local residents will engage in a dynamic discussion and resource sharing that will help women to become empowered, and redirected, in their job search, with options for restoring their individual economic security.  Long Island has been selected as one of only eight locations in the country to host this free event.

Local businesswomen will be on hand to share their personal experiences of how they’ve weathered and survived the ups and downs of this economy.  Additionally, attendees will also hear from local candidates up for election in November, as they present their plans for economic development in our communities.

This event is being presented in collaboration with the Coalition’s national partners AARP & Adecco.  In addition local support is also provided by Civic Sponsor Prudential. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
