Crystal Morrison is volunteering with the Liddle Kidz Foundation Global, a non-profit organization that supports the children of Vietnam who are the unfortunate causalities of a long ago war. Infants and children in Vietnam have effects that have been passed down from the generation before in the form of birth defects from Agent Orange and the remnants of landmines. It is through the work of volunteers that the Liddle Kidz Foundation Global aims to bring healing and participate in the exchange of love and forgiveness that is needed to heal the affects of the Vietnam War.
“Children are our most precious resource, and so we should not delay. Every day that we do not intervene with effective programs, we are losing remarkable human potential. Every child whose potential is wasted is an incredible loss to the world,” is stated Tina Allen, founder of the Liddle Kidz Foundation.
Crystal Morrison is looking to raise $5000 over the next 2 months for her volunteer program. This amount goes toward the coordination of her volunteer placement, education on the culture and issues facing the community, lodging throughout Vietnam, all meals, transportation, and experienced language support staff.
Since it’s inception, the Liddle Kidz Foundation Global (LKF Global) has been dedicated to providing the therapeutic, curative and palliative benefits of nurturing touch to vulnerable populations through the use of infant and pediatric massage. The gentle art of infant and pediatric massage has been shown to have many positive benefits including growth and brain development, sensory integration, sleep regulation, enhanced verbal and nonverbal communication. Children have also been shown to develop stronger bonds with their caregivers, which can establish a solid foundation for their future.
“It is difficult to convey in words the passion I have to provide care for children of all ages and the joy it brings to know that I made a difference in that one moment in their life,” Crystal said when asked why she enjoys providing pediatric massage.
