Kannon’s Clothing in Cameron Village to host Peter Millar signature Crown Shop

Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Peter Millar, a leader in the luxury apparel market, announced today that it will open a signature Peter Millar Crown Shop with Kannon’s Clothing, located in the Cameron Village shopping center of Raleigh, NC.  The 450 square foot Crown Shop will launch on October 8, as a “store within a store. The installation features an expanded selection of specially merchandised Peter Millar apparel, along with customized display fixtures.  
“We are very excited to be the home of the first Peter Millar Crown Shop in the Raleigh market,” says owner George Knuckley.  “Kannon’s Clothing has been working with Peter Millar since Chris Knott founded the company in 2001 and our relationship is particularly special since Raleigh is the home of Peter Millar’s headquarters.”
“We are proud to feature their full line of apparel in our new location in Cameron Village,” continued Knuckley,   “The new Crown Shop will allow our customers to browse the entire Peter Millar line of clothing and accessories in a friendly, comfortable environment, staffed with experienced and knowledgeable apparel professionals.” Kannon’s will become the sixth specialty store in the nation to introduce a Peter Millar Crown Shop, joining Coffman’s Menswear of Greenville, NC, Darien Sport Shop of Darien, CT, Wingtip (formerly On the Fly) of San Francisco, CA, Mister Guy Clothiers of St. Louis, MO, and John Craig Clothiers, located in Naples, FL.
To mark the opening of the new Crown Shop, Kannon’s and Peter Millar will partner with the Red Sword Guild and the Raleigh Roundup Committee to host an opening event on the evening of October 17th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.  Kannon’s will donate 10% of sales from the evening back to Raleigh Roundup 2012, which benefits the American Cancer Society.  Special appearances on the night of the event include Peter Millar Founder, Chris Knott and Peter Millar Chief Executive Officer, Scott Mahoney.

Established in 1916, Kannon’s Clothing has been serving customers throughout the Carolinas for almost 100 years.  The store is currently owned and operated by the grandchildren of founder Isaac Kannon: George Knuckley, Boo Jefferson, Mary Kathryn Phillips and Joe Ann Wright. After 96 years in Wendell, NC, Kannon’s is moving its menswear division to its new location in Raleigh’s Cameron Village, while the ladies shop will continue to operate in Wendell.
