The app idea was conceived by Paul Murin, an expert guitar player and instructor who has taught guitar for more than 20 years. Murin has a background in musical composition and an emphasis on the classical guitar technique. He created the app because he recognized that guitar skills could be taught in an interactive way through a mobile application. His approach teaches guitarists everything they need to know and allows them to practice and learn at their own pace.
Peak Guitar includes lessons in three different styles: classic rock, rock, and funk. Within each of these categories, users can learn how to play according to the modal, horizontal, or pentatonic scale. Easy-to-read diagrams and professional sound bites make it easy for guitarists to acquire and cultivate their skills.
“Peak Guitar was created because there was a lot of information that exists about notes and scales, but no source that brings it all together in an easily manageable and understood way,” said Murin. “Peak Guitar is designed to bring it all together and give guitarists the ‘big picture’ understanding of the neck of the guitar.”
Peak Guitar comes ready-to-jam with ten different songs, and dozens more are available in a variety of musical genres. The additional tracks can be purchased in an assortment of bundles containing 8-15 tracks each.
