Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust joins the growing numbers of NHS organisations choosing Docman RMS as its document management and workflow solution to manage incoming referrals received by the Trust. The solution will be used across the whole Trust enhancing and speeding up the flow of information between departments, eliminating paper processes which can be time consuming and constrained.
Managing incoming referrals that are received in differing ways can be a challenging and time consuming process for health care organisations. Referrals may arrive into the organisation as a hard copy document, email, Choose and Book or by fax, adding to the complexity of managing this process. This solution provides a comprehensive software system to capture, file, workflow, and view referrals electronically. All of this is underpinned by a complete audit trail and a real-time view of exactly where any particular referral is within the process.
Sandra Whitelock, ICT Project Manager, Worcester Acute Hospital NHS Trust “With the Docman solution we will be able to standardise our referral management system, by creating a single repository. Our clinical reviews and authorisation of referrals will be enhanced.”
“The tracking and management of referrals will be greatly improved and this in turn, will mean that we are able to respond to patients and referrers enquiries more speedily.”
Ric Thompson, Managing Director, PCTI “we are delighted to announce a second Trust who has chosen Docman RMS to streamline the management of their referrals. The beauty of the solution is that the system can be tailored to automate processes in line with the Clinicians ways of working, ensuring maximum time savings.”
“Following the first deployment of RMS at King’s, the quality and efficiency benefits has far exceeded our initial expectations. The solution ensures that there is an electronic record of all activity in relation to the management of every referral, commencing at the earliest possible point in the process. This improves the consistency of referral data for RTT management and helps to ensure care pathways have been streamlined.”
“PCTI are working with 70 NHS Trusts to deliver solutions that streamline processes, enable paper free care and provide significant efficiencies for the QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Prevention and Productivity)
King's College Hospital was the first NHS Trust to deploy Docman RMS and has recently been selected to present at EHI Live 2012 as part of the Best Practice Showcase Programme at 11am 6th November.
