Chorale Kicks off 31st Season of Beautiful Singing with Concert and Art Show

Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- “Bel canto,” in Italian, means “beautiful singing.”  On Saturday, October 20, 2012, Whittier’s Chorale Bel Canto will kick off their 31st concert season in their hallmark classical style, performing The Poet’s Voice in the Whittier College Memorial Chapel, 13406 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601.
   Under the direction of founder-director Stephen Gothold, the 80-member ensemble will perform at 4:00 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m.  The concert will feature part songs from three centuries, including works by Johannes Brahms, James Hopkins, Eric Whitacre and others.  The concert will be accompanied by an art show featuring works of local artists in adjacent Arnold Hall.
   Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, $15 for groups of 10 or more, $5 for youth and student rush at the door.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Chorale’s information line at (877) 216-2987 or online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/261579.
