Sense & Color School of Music Brings the Weird to Cedar Park

Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- While Austin's known for its live music, its northwest suburb Cedar Park is still building its live music audience. Sense & Color School of Music (at 300 Brushy Creek Rd, Suite 202, Cedar Park) aims to bring the "weird" of Austin to the suburbs by bringing some of the best of Austin's live music to Cedar Park this Sunday, October 7th from 5-10pm. (Leander ISD has an official day off on Monday!)

Sense & Color has been offering music lessons in Cedar Park since 2008, but this event marks the official grand opening of their first commercial location. (The event was initially planned for September 16, but was postponed due to heavy rains.)

Among the artists performing in the parking lot this Sunday at Sense & Color are Ctrl V (made up of school founder Michael Boyd and his wife Amy), the Descendants of Erdrick (an Austin-based but nationally touring Nintendo cover band founded by instructor Amanda Lepre), Maestro (a master of beatboxing and pop-and-lock dancing), Joseph Schooler (an electronic music artist) and A Live One (a Phish tribute band that has played many major Austin venues including Stubbs, the Parish, Antone's, and the Texas Music Theater in San Marcos).

Also featured will be Amanda Lepre's solo work, as well as some short how-to sessions with Maestro demonstrating his dance and beatboxing techniques. Burgers will be served, and Rock Band will be on hand to entertain the kids in the front waiting room. Music will start at 5pm. The Descendants of Erdrick will start at 7:20pm, and A Live One will start at 8:10pm.

Each instructor at Sense & Color School of Music is a professional, working musician, and this Sunday marks the first time their respective bands will play together, as well as the first time that the headliners Descendants of Erdrick and A Live One will play in Cedar Park.
