Goldberg And Garrell Launch R2 Associates, LLC

Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- MADISON, NJ, OCTOBER 1, 2012, – Today, R2 Associates, LLC, was officially launched. The new firm brings together the talent and experience of two top industry leaders in marketing communications and government relations strategies. Their mission is to help corporations and non-profit organizations increase their visibility, reputation and influence in key markets.

The firm will be led by Richard M. Goldberg, who will serve as Managing Partner. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at DRS Technologies, a $3.5 billion defense and security company. He was responsible for managing public relations, advertising, media relations and corporate branding in a highly competitive market. In addition, he had oversight of tradeshows, the corporate websites and new media development for the company.

Prior to joining DRS, Goldberg spent 15 years in the not-for-profit sector, leading several state, national and international trade associations representing the high-tech, import/export, and broad based business sectors. His accomplishments include building influential government relations programs, increasing membership and program revenue, and motivating and energizing boards of directors.

Joining Goldberg, is Mark Garrell, who will serve as Partner, Washington Operations. Garrell will leverage his long-standing relationships with key decision makers and their staffs to successfully represent the issues important to the firm’s clients, increasing their visibility in any branches of the federal government.

Recently, Garrell served as Senior Vice President, Government Affairs and Director of Washington Operations for Force Protection, a top military vehicle manufacturer supporting America and its allies. He was responsible for all legislative interaction with Capitol Hill and the company’s primary liaison for the Pentagon.  Prior to his role at Force Protection, Garrell was Vice President of Government Affairs at DRS Technologies.

Mark Garrell is a decorated veteran, with 22 years of military service with the United States Army, achieving the rank of colonel. He served as Senior Legislative Coordinator for Appropriations, Army Budget Congressional Liaison, in the Office of the Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller in his last Pentagon assignment.  

The firm will immediately begin offering support services in all areas of internal and external communications, brand and identity growth plans, and government relations and issue advocacy.
