Founder of SuddenlySolo.org is Harold (Hal) M. Spielman, who currently resides in Sands Point and is a widowed father of three sons. A sociologist by training, Hal has been a teaching fellow in art (CCNY). Additionally, Hal has served on the N.Y. Governor’s Commission on Graduate School Education (SUNY). After serving his country honorably in World War II, Hal co-founded McCollum Spielman Worldwide, a market research company whose unique services are available in 53 countries, from which he retired as Chairman in 2008.

Over his long career, Hal has been a frequent speaker at the Association of National Advertisers, the American Marketing Association and the Advertising Research Foundation. Hal has been President of the Market Research Council, President of the Copy Research Council and has chaired multiple conferences for the AMA and the ARF. Currently, he is a research advisor to the Ad Council. In 2008, he was elected by his peers to the Market Research Hall of Fame.
