Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Guy Spicola, a 17-year Hillsborough Circuit Judge and two-term Chief Judge, has been appointed by the United States District Judge in Louisiana to serve on the class action Appeals Panel for claims related to the BP “Deep Water Horizon” oil rig explosion and resulting oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010.

According to Spicola, who currently practices at the Law Offices of Guy Spicola, this is the largest class action suit in history, involving five states: Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. To date, more than 53,000 claims have been filed and billions of dollars are involved. Florida leads the other states in the highest number of claims.
