2nd Annual 'Stand-Up for M.D.A.' Comedy Fundraiser at the Houston Improv on 10/23/2012

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 2, 2012 - Stu Nichols passed away peacefully at his home on May 7th, 2011 after a courageous 8 year battle against ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. During this time, Stu participated in numerous clinical trials and also brought awareness to this disease through his multiple charity events.

The Stand-Up for MDA event takes place this year on October 23, 2012 at the Houston Improv. Continuing Stu’s legacy of sending kids with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp, this will be an unforgettable night filled with laughter and entertainment. The following comedians have committed to performing live sets: Eddie B, Blame the Comic, Talha, and Derrick Keener. The host this year will be Magic 102.5's Jazzie Redd.  

Last year we were able to raise enough funds to sponsor 5 kids to attend camp! This years goal is to send 25 kids to summer camp and provide them with an unforgettable experience!! It costs $800 to send a kid to summer camp for a week. The week of summer camp is filled with activities that can easily be taken for granted. Guests and donors are in for surprises with the signature "Hire A Comedian" friendly roast session, gift certificates from local businesses, novelty sports items auction, and other giveaways to remember the cause. All donations are tax deductible as well.
