Daughter of Late Memphis Writer Carries on the Torch

New local author follows father’s footsteps with fiction novel, Enough Time.

Sept. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Memphis, TN - Some talents are inherited. Others are learned. There are also talents that are just downright passions. For local writer turned author, Christin Webb, writing may be all three. As the youngest daughter of late renowned Memphis journalist, historian and genealogist, Arthur LaVan Webb, Christin grew up watching her father write for local newspapers such as the Tri-State Defender and Commercial Appeal. It was that exposure that sparked Christin’s love for writing.

To expound on that love, Christin recently finished her largest project to date, the novel, Enough Time©.  The contemporary, fiction novel was self-published in the summer of 2012 through Webb Publishing Co. and edited by award winning editor, Sheree R. Thomas of the science fiction anthologies, Dark Matter: A Century of Speculative Fiction from the African Diaspora and Dark Matter: Reading the Bones.

In the episodic, fiction novel, Enough Time, Rhea, Sonja, and Julian decide they want to live life on their terms, when their worlds open up so much more than they expect. For Rhea Dudley, everything comes to a screeching halt when the deepest betrayal cuts through the middle of her heart – her husband’s infidelity. Besides attempting to be a loyal wife, daughter, best friend, and teacher, Rhea unknowingly finds herself having to decide between the desires of others or her happiness. When Sonja Tremmel was a little girl growing up in the north, she never imaged the trials she’d encounter in life. Forced to grow up fast and learn the art of survival, heading to jail as an adolescent turns out to be the smallest pill for Sonja to swallow when it comes to being pregnant as a young inmate. Sonja begins to take a long hard look at her past, present, and uncertain future, becoming the inspiration for others to continue seeking redemption and finding love. Even after Julian Jones, a young finance executive, decides to detach from his hurtful past, he continues to feel empty inside. Dealing with rejection from his father, losing his secret love interest, and high profile job, Julian finds console as a mentee to a young inner city youth and makes a decision on leaving a meaningful mark on life. Rhea, Sonja, and Julian all learn that tomorrow is not a promise, yet opportunity for change in the moment realized.

Enough Time can currently be purchased at www.amazon.com and the Tennessee Regular Baptist Bookstore located at 1055 S. Bellevue in Memphis, Tennessee. eBooks are coming soon.
