Sept. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- On tonight’s episode of Dragons’ Den on BBC2 there was a landmark investment for Britain’s motorists as two dragons, Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis, invested in a potentially ground-breaking new parking website, namely Primal Parking. A pitch which started off on an unsteady footing was turned around impressively, resulting in investment being offered and subsequently accepted.

For years finding a parking space has become increasingly difficult with car park charges rising, councils introducing parking restrictions and yellow lines across our streets, and planning restrictions meaning that many new buildings are restricted from building accompanying parking spaces.

Now though there’s hope for the motorist that the parking situation could be eased. Tonight’s episode of Dragons’ Den saw the two dragons invest in a company which allows people to rent out their empty driveway. Tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of driveways sit empty or under-utilised every single day. If they could be brought into the parking market then suddenly the country’s parking stock could be increased hugely, not to mention the helpful additional source of income for people feeling the squeeze during these tough economic times.

Interestingly, the company which obtained investment isn’t the first company to come up with this idea. Back in 2006 YourParkingSpace (http://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk) was launched and is still going strong today. With over 10,000 spaces across the UK it has a large customer base and the awareness which will be created via this Dragons’ Den investment will only go to helping the industry as a whole.
