How Do I Make My Computer Faster

Sept. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- I know you are tired of your computer taking forever to boot up or websites taking forever to load. Well I am here to help you with that problem. After I show you how easy it is to fix the problem you will see a big difference so let’s could started.



Here are a few tools  you can download from the website for free. once you have the tools downloaded I suggest you save it on a USB stick and take it with you everywhere. I know it sounds weird but your friends and family will thank you for it.







– CCcleaner this free program will help you clean out a lot of the bad stuff like cookies, spyware and many many more. it is very user-friendly by far one of the best free tools out there.









-Advast free antivirus program, another great product I use. You do have the option to upgrade to a paid version but the free one is good enough. It will automatically update software for you so you won’t have to worry about anything.











-Auslogics Disk Defrag also free tool you can use. This program will organize all your files everything from music documents pictures.. etc.. etc.. and put it neatly on your hard drive so your hard drive will not stress itself looking for the files. So lets say you want to go and listen your music or look at a document and you are done with. The hard drive will throw it back at a different location. As time goes by you can see how messy it will get. Well with this program it will clean it up and the hard drive will work less to obtain your file.

So this is what I would do in order…

Step #1 – Shut down all Windows program so you will be on the desktop.

Step #2 – Open up CCleaner. You will see four tabs on the left side labeled Cleaner, Registry, Tools, Options. Now if you have certain passwords on certain sites and wish to keep them go to Tools then Cookies. Look through the site’s you are familiar with, then click on the arrow to send it to the right column and that’s it.

Step#3 – click on the “Cleaner” tab (Broom icon) and you will notice a box at the bottom of the screen labeled “Analyze” click on it. Now this might take a few minutes. You will receive information on how big the size of the files are that were scanned and how much can be removed. If you want it removed then you will go to the lower right corner and click “Run Cleaner”.

Step #4 – Once you finish step three you will click on the Registry icon and pretty much do the same thing as before. You will click “Scanned for issue” in the lower left part of the window, wait for the results. Once the result is posted you have an option to fix selected issues. When you click on that button and a window will pop up to ask if you wish to backup your registry I would highly recommend yes and save it. I usually save it in a folder on desktop labeled registry.

Now you are done with CCleaner!!

It is time for disk defrag.. this is the easiest one

Step #1- open up Auslogic Defrag. You will notice on the top portion of the window your disk names, Those are your hard rives. Make all hard drives are checked.

Step#2 – You will notice the defrag botton under the drive name.  Click on the arrow you will see a drop down menu. Here are the options defrag, defrag and optimize, and quick defrag.

Analyze – This will scan your hard drive to see how much work needs to be done. If you see a lot of different colors everywhere, that means your files are everywhere. very un-organized, means hard drive will have to work harder to get your files.

Defrag- is your default choice and and it depends on how big your hard drive is if it will take a short time or be an all nighter.

Defrag and Optimize is the slowest but the best choice.  I would highly recommend this one for overnight, heading out for not using the computer for at lease a few hours.

Step#3 – Now once you have selected your choice it will automatically start and you could have it running in the background. You will also notice an option to “Turn Off PC after defragmentation”. this is your choice you would like the computer to shut off automatically once it’s done defraging. that is pretty much it

to recap:

1)Ccleaner – Go to Tools, Cookies, select what u like to save”website” –>go to Cleaner (Broom Icon) Analyze, once done with it.  ”Run Cleaner” button (lower right). Hit “OK”. Then go to “Registry” –>”Scan for Issues” (you might have to do this step a couple of times to make sure it’s clean) –>”Fix selected issues”–>Yes to backing up your registry!! –>windown will pop up hit “Fix All Selected Issues” and thats it!!!

Last thing will be Disk Defrag, just remember do not mess with the computer while defrag mode.  It will take longer.  So the best time to do it will be at the end of the night.  Do a Drag w/Optimize. and CHECK “TURN OFF PC AFTER DEFRAGMENTATION.

and last but not least, the antivirus program called Avast. It’s free !!! There are many anti-virus software out there, but the problem with most of them is that it will hog up  your PC resource so it would actually do more harm than good.  One of the most famous antivirus software program to do this is Norton antivirus. Had it once and never again will I install it. Avast is very user friendly and a billion times better.



Once you have everything complete on your next restart you will notice a big difference.

Now you have the knowledge that alot of computer stores will charge anywhere from $60 – $100 and now you can help your friends and family with their computer issue when they ask you..
