PatentYogi team travelled with the Navi Radjou, Jaideep Prabhu and Simone Ahuja, authors of “Jugaad Innovation: Think Frugal, Be Flexible, Generate Breakthrough Growth”. Jugaad is Hindi word meaning an improvised solution born from ingenuity in the face of scarcity. The India book tour was extremely successful. The book was unveiled by Sam Pitroda in Delhi. This was followed by visits to Mumbai and Infosys campus in Bangalore. The book has seen lot of success in India. It is available at all airports.
Jaideep Prabhu is Jawaharlal Nehru Professor of Indian Business and Enterprise at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Jaideep said, 'PatentYogi imbibes the six principles of Jugaad Innovation, namely,
• Doing more from less
• Including the margin
• Flexible thinking
• Finding opportunity in adversity
• Following your heart
• Keeping it simple'.
PatentYogi’s goal is to lower the innovation barrier. It caters to patent needs of start-ups and individual inventors. Deepak Gupta, MD PatentYogi said 'Innovation is a constant in today's society. Every society, every organization has adopted innovation as core part of their business activities. The results also show that there is a huge upside to small consistent innovation’.
In US, almost 50% patents are filed by individual inventors, SMEs and start-ups. This shows that unstructured innovation (like Jugaad Innovation) is not a new phenomenon. “Most of our clients are start-ups in US, UK, Finland and India who need help in patenting their inventions. PatentYogi has catered to over 20 startups in last 6 months. We have proven the model, now we are ramping up operations,”
The book is available on all major book shops and airports in India.
