Financial Services Software Leader Selects Bright Cluster Manager for Cloud-ready Development System

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Bright Computing, the leading vendor-independent provider of cluster management software, announced that Murex has selected Bright Cluster Manager for its new development and testing cluster in Paris. Murex develops risk and asset management solutions for financial organizations worldwide. Its flagship product, Murex MX-3, used for risk analysis in financial market trading, has over 36,000 users at 200 institutions in 65 countries worldwide.

The cluster comprises IBM iDataplex servers with Intel X5675 CPUS, augmented by NVIDIA Tesla M2090 GPUs. Bright Cluster Manager is used for provisioning, job scheduling, monitoring and system management. With Bright, Murex is positioned for additional compute capacity through the use of the software’s cloud bursting capabilities. Cloud based nodes can be added to the iDataplex system with just a few mouse clicks and managed as part of the local cluster.

Finding an effective cluster management solution and on-going professional support were critical challenges in completing the system.

As a relative newcomer to cluster computing, Murex was looking for cluster management that was easy to install and operate, one that would create a robust reference platform for their own software development process.  The Murex team contracted with Bright partner ClusterVision to install Bright Cluster Manager and to provide operational support.
