The site also recognizes the organizations that have provided support for the campaign.
“Don’t Be Sidelined”, launched in partnership with Husker Sports Marketing and other respected health and human service organizations, made its debut on Saturday, September 1, 2012 during the college football match-up between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Southern Mississippi. The campaign will run in conjunction with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln football and basketball seasons. It features radio spots, in-stadium signage, print advertisements, a Facebook page, a website (DontBeSidelined.com)
As 1 in 4 Americans suffer from some form of mental illness, the campaign seeks to educate the public that mental illness is a real medical condition that does not discriminate and is more common than most people may think. Most importantly, the campaign encourages those suffering from a mental illness to seek help. Resources and informational links are available on the campaign’s website, www.dontbesidelined.com.
