Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- As one of the premier sources for entertainment news and things to do in the greater Chicago area, Concierge Preferred would like to inform parents and kids of all ages of Boo! at the Zoo. This event, held October 20-21 and 27-28 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, features a plethora of activities that are fun for everyone. From Friday through Sunday of the last three weeks of October, Brookfield Zoo will also be host to Creatures of the Night from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

Although Halloween is often associated with tricks and scary movies more than treats and fun, Boo! at the Zoo offers not-so-scary Halloween entertainment for the entire family. Professional pumpkin carver Steve Dahlke will carve 1,000 pound jack-o'-lanterns. Dahlke's got over 25 years of pumpkin carving experience, and he's bringing them with him to the Brookfield Zoo's Halloween programming.

The West Mall will be home to a 7,000-square-foot corn maze that's guaranteed to keep kids and parents busy for some time, or visitors can take a hay ride through the zoo for an old-fashioned good time. The traditional costume parade will begin at 1:00 pm each day, starting at the zoo's north gate and making its way through the zoo, around Roosevelt Fountain, and finishing at the East Mall.

Brookfield Zoo's Creatures of the Night programming will be returning again this year, with improvements on the previous program. This year will feature Xtreme BUGS, making their creepy return to help visitors see extreme creatures in an eerie light.

The Haunted Tram will take folks on a spooky ride through the woods, featuring all-new scary scenes. The Trail of Terror leads guests through a brand new experience, underneath the cover of the elements. There will also be a ceremonial pumpkin smashing every half hour, as well as access to the corn maze from the Boo! at the Zoo event.

Goblins and ghosts of any age will have something to do this October at Brookfield Zoo, and residents interested in other zoo activities can find out more with Concierge Preferred. Concierge Preferred keeps Chicagoans updated on things to do in the city, from concerts and sporting events to festivals and everything in between.
