Rotacaster recently announced an innovative solution delivering significant ergonomic safety and productivity improvement, named Rotatruck for the retail and beverage industry. Peter McKinnon, Managing Director for Rotacaster, explained the challenge an Australian grocery retailer was facing. The company was looking to improve its ergonomic safety and productivity when stocking milk from crates on pallets into the cool room fridge displays.
The effective Rotatruck latching system can be adapted to a wide range of applications, and is currently being tested for other crate transporting uses.
The key risks factors addressed by Rotatruck include:
o Awkward Position: The Rotatruck reduces the bending required when pulling back.
Applications for the Rotacaster range from material handling equipment (hand trucks, trolleys, dollies, carts, skates) to shopping carts and luggage; from conveyor transfers, pipe rollers, and other inverted applications to robotics and patient lifts in medical settings.
