The Homewood Conservatory and Greenhouses, a Victorian era palm house and greenhouse structures, was a centerpiece of architectural art built in 1909 in Pittsburgh, PA. The building will finally have a secure home, and will be fully restored and become the centerpiece to the Spur Horticultural Center.
The Spur Community Co-Op will operate the Horticultural Center working with local schools and colleges. It is planned to become a community hydroponic center for local vegetable production.
It is planned to move the dis-assembled facility to Spur in the 90 days for reconstruction, with a planned opening by October 2013, just in time for Homecoming in Spur, Texas.
SPUR2020.ORG is accepting donations, endowments and grants to further its mission of restoring the historic town to its former glory.
