iPMI Magazine - European Air Ambulance Fleet Renewal Indicates Strength and Reliability

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- European Air Ambulance has commenced the process of renewing its existing fleet of LearJet 35A aircraft, replaying them with the larger LearJet 45XR.

So far EAA has purchased two of the new jets, and we can report nothing but positive following the decision. The aircraft is a perfect fit for EAA and our clients. Upgrading to the 45XR mean we have minimal overheads regarding additional training for pilot and crew, and it allowed us to maintain our relationship with a trusted manufacturer. The middle of a recession may seem a strange time to consider fleet renewal, but the timing is actually ideal.

It shows our clients that we are a strong, reliable and stable long-term partner, even in a period of insecurity. The move up to the 45XR is also part of EEA's strategy to increase capacity and service flexibility, as the aircraft allows for a range of double-stretcher, neonatal mission and passenger seating configurations.

The new aircraft also has more room for medical supplies and permits EAA to carry out missions that require additional medical crew. And in cases where relatives travel with the patient, it also provides more comfort for passengers with a higher cabin ceiling, separate toilet facility and better seating.

Furthermore we are keen to ensure that our fleet renewal does not mean having to pass on additional costs to our clients. The lower purchase price allows us to do just that, as does the fact that the 45XR requires less maintenance and is faster than the LR35, meaning less time spent in the air. The aircraft also allows for shorter fuel stops and has a better range and landing performance and we increase our technical reliability with more modern aircraft. To sum up, the purchase of the two LearJet 45XE aircraft is the perfect fit for our current operations and allows EEA to continue our key strategies.
