Let’s Examine how Foreign Direct Investments is affecting day to day lives in India?

The topic of foreign direct investments is bothering our minds these days. We need to know what it is exactly. It may not be affecting us directly, but surely we will have some indirect impacts, which we must know and plan accordingly!

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- FDI, refers to Foreign Direct Investment, is an investment that is made by a company in another company of a different country than the investing company. There are a lot of positive and negative sides of FDI. In India, as the local airlines are facing the problems of rising fuel charges and taxes, they are finding difficulty in earning profits because the ultimate prices for the tickets are rising very high. Technically, the concept of Low-Cost is now gone. Even the low cost airlines are charging way too much for one ticket, and still providing less services in the name being low cost. So fdi in aviation has become a necessity. Though there are some people who are opposing this. But still the government is interested in allowing foreign companies to have their shareholdings in our local Indian airline companies. fdi aviation india is a big issue and the decision has to be made considering a lot many factors. Obviously, majority of decision taking power and share would be kept by Indians only. But FDI will save the airline companies from closing down.

FDI is not only necessary in aviation industry, but also in retail industry. There is a lot of scope in India and companies get fairly large base of customers here. Hence, retail sector attracts many companies from foreign countries. fdi in retail industry also have its pros and cons. The most talked about company is Walmart when it comes to fdi in retail. Walmart is looking forward to open its retail stores in various parts of India but then Indian companies like Reliance stores might face some problems because of it. It is a crucial decision whether the government should allow Walmart or not as it is a giant in this industry and it might affect local companies of India. So to regulate it properly, the government has applied some restrictions and rules like retail stores by foreign companies can be opened only in cities where the population is above some mark. Also, various kinds of limits are being applied for foreign companies, which will ensure that limited amount of money flows out of the country.
