Palace on Wheels’ Festive Departures Getting Good response from Luxury Travelers

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- While this year’s inaugural journey of luxury tourist train Palace on Wheels got a lukewarm response from the global travelers, the festive season departures of the train are getting a high-response from the tourist circle. In the month of October, November and December 2012, the train would cover a total of 13 rounds falling in and around Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas and New Year.

With the festive season knocking at the doors, people around the world have started planning for their holidays. India, being one of the premiere tourist destinations in the world, witnesses an upsurge of luxury travelers every year during this time of the year. As there can be no better way to spend this merriment time other than a weeklong sojourn to Rajasthan on board Palace on Wheels, foreign travelers are making their reservations for the train well in advance to avoid the last minute rush.

While all the cabins for departures scheduled on October 24, November 7 & 21, and December 19 & 26 have been booked, there are only a few cabins left for the rest of the departures scheduled on October, November and December 2012.

The Palace on Wheels is owned and managed by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC). With the not-so-good first response from the foreign travelers, the RTDC is hopeful of reaping in profit this year with the train’s festive time departures.

Palace on Wheels departs from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on every Wednesday during September to April every year. While the main focus of the train itinerary is on various destinations in Rajasthan, the city of Taj Mahal, Agra is also included in it. During October and December, Rajasthan comes alive as the locals celebrate different festivals with great pomp and show.
