Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- The opening of Park Hyatt Seoul gives the capital of Korea a new address that redefines comfort, elegance and sophistication with contemporary accommodation and exceptional service. Park Hyatt Seoul is ideally located in the city’s central business district of Gangnam, directly opposite to COEX – the Convention and Exhibition Centre, and right next to the major business and commercial centres of Seoul.

With a 24-story building fashioned like a glass box, the celebrated Japanese design firm, Super Potato, has made the idea of the hotel’s exterior and interior one and the same, which makes for an impressive presence from street level and stunning panoramic views from within the hotel.  Super Potato’s concept melds Eastern and Western influences of tradition and innovation using nature as a guideline. Japanese and Chinese natural stone, light Myanmar oak, dark maple wood, water, and plenty of natural light are key elements throughout the hotel. The mood within the hotel changes constantly depending on the time of day, making for an endlessly surprising experience at every turn. The 185-room Park Hyatt Seoul seamlessly communicates its vision of a minimalist yet warm setting for guests and locals alike, while adding a unique design property to the exclusive Park Hyatt collection.

The Park Hyatt Seoul experience begins at the top - the 24th floor. Stepping off the elevator, guests are greeted by a reception area made of Japanese Aji Stone, and a large rectangular lounge area with orange leather chairs, Myanmar oak tables, and floor-to-ceiling windows to the left. At the end of the Lobby Lounge, there is a direct view of the 17 metre indoor heated pool through a glass wall, which continues past to a view of the city through the pool’s outer glass wall. The sky lobby is a wonderful example of the design concept’s element of surprise because it redefines a “traditional” hotel layout by placing areas that normally do not go together right next to each other.
Two large abstract paintings in shades of pink and orange hang by the reception and the Lounge providing a splash of colour. The dramatic wraparound view of Seoul makes the lobby the perfect setting for relaxing and or enjoying cocktails and light refreshments with friends while admiring the city below.

Park Hyatt Seoul’s 185 guestrooms include one Presidential Suite, two Diplomatic Suites and 35 Park Suites. The 52 square metre Park Deluxe Rooms are the largest guestrooms in the city. In order for in-house guests to enjoy more private spaces, Park Hyatt Seoul has separate elevators only available for guestroom floors and has not more than ten rooms per floor. All guestrooms and suites are designed in a contemporary style residence with 3.4 metre floor-to-ceiling windows, simple, neutral tones and exquisite artistic elements. Each guestroom has custom-designed feather bed, a dining table, 32- inch flat screen television, DVD player, multi-line telephones and high speed Internet access. The guestrooms also feature high-tech mp3 speakers – JBL speaker in Park King and Deluxe and BOSE speaker in Park Suite – to which guests can connect their own iPod, iPhone or other mp3 players and listen to their favourite tunes through a high-quality sound system.

The lavish spa-inspired bathroom is the standout feature in all the guestrooms. Measuring at a third of the size of the entire room, the bathroom features a granite stone wall and full wall windows looking out onto the city and into the bedroom (blinds are available for non-exhibitionists!). The extra deep soaking tub comes equipped with a 15-inch flat screen television and overflow capabilities, and a separate rain shower is available. All bathrooms feature botanical-based Aesop amenities, chosen for their high quality herbs and essential oils.

Park Hyatt Seoul offers exquisite fine dining and exceptional service in its restaurants and bars. Using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, our finest chefs create savoury, palate-pleasing cuisine with flair and creativity.

Located on the 2nd floor, our main restaurant Cornerstone offers meat and seafood prepared in wood-burning ovens, home-made pastas and desserts with a touch of Italian essence. Offering panoramic views of Seoul, The Lounge on the 24th floor presents authentic Korean and Western specialties as well as a wide selection of beverages and desserts. The Timber House, a live entertainment bar styled after a traditional Korean house on the lower level of the hotel, offers Japanese cuisine and premium beverages complemented with live performances by internationally renowned vocalists.

Services at the newly opened Business Centre on the 23rd floor, which is open 24 hours a day, are complimentary for guests staying at Park Hyatt Seoul. Use of computers, scanning service, as well as copying and printing up to ten pages are complimentary, while additional charges may apply for faxes, translation, typing services and others. Private limousines used for en route to/from the hotel and airport, or on a city tour also offer complimentary wireless Internet service, daily newspapers and magazines, a note pad, bottled water & beverages, a sleep mask and more. Guests can also choose to hear your favourite music from various CDs placed at the limousine.

Six meeting rooms are located on the third floor, totalling 317 square metres of function space. Designed for smaller high-end business meetings and functions for up to 80 people, the space includes The Salon (112 sq metre), Salon I (27 sq metre), Salon II (52 sq metre), Boardroom I (50
sq metre), Boardroom II (38 sq metre), and Boardroom III (38 sq metre). All spaces benefit from the natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, stylish and contemporary furniture in a residential-inspired atmosphere, built-in LCD projector, screen and flat screen televisions, wireless LAN, and espresso machines. The meeting services staff can tailor packages to suit individual client needs and salon rooms are available for private dining.
