Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos walk on cancer in Wabasha.

Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- What happens when you combine a local concert series, a wild and zany piano show and a great charitable cause?  You get a heartfelt evening of stellar entertainment with a purpose!

Owner of Moonshine Showcase, Barry Hill, has brought a number of quality shows to Wabasha, MN but he has never put his love for music to work for such a profound charitable organization.  “Moonshine Showcase is part of the community and with that comes the opportunity to help create awareness for things like ACS’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” says Hill.

This partnership highlights the importance of community involvement for the American Cancer Society.   "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer unites us all to walk together as the most powerful force to end breast cancer,” said Paul Branstad at the American Cancer Society. “We are so thankful for how this community has pulled together to encourage everyone to change the course of breast cancer forever. Making Strides walkers and supporters can be proud that their efforts are helping 2.6 million breast cancer survivors living in the US celebrate another birthday this year.”

The American Cancer Society is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer and all cancers investing the most in research of any non-governmental organization to find, prevent, treat, and cure the disease. Today, 1 in every 2 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to us for help and support.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premier breast cancer event. It is an event that celebrates life, survivorship, and the hope that someday no one hears the words “you have breast cancer.” People of all ages are encouraged to participate in this noncompetitive, team focused 5K walk. Since Moonshine Showcase’s inception in 2009, they have brought national touring artists to the small river town of Wabasha, MN.  Hill describes his excitement for an opportunity to give the community quality entertainment coupled with helping others.  “ I love the idea of being able to give people a great show while at the same time supporting such a worthwhile cause”, says Hill.
