Before the show, guests were treated to a Golden Age of Hollywood-themed hors d’oeuvres and dessert buffets, including Grauman’s Chinese Theater Dim Sum, Santa Monica Sunset Chip and Dip bar and Schwab’s Ice Cream Sunday and Root Beer Float bar.
The show was an ensemble production, starring Joanie Sigal, LD Sledge, Tom Godfrey, Alan Mehanna, Elena Wagner, Jessy Leros, Melissa Ryan, Colleen Lindsay, Julianne Boudreaux, Wiso Gossett, Helen Pinder and Saiyo Shaw.
The show-within-
Between ticket sales, a silent auction and raffle, $4095 was raised, which will be used to fund the festival’s operating expenses and educational programs.
The Sunscreen Film Festival is a project of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Society and is a 501c3 charitable organization. It is run strictly by volunteers and has enjoyed quite a success, having been named one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals by Moviemaker Magazine.
The film festival is dedicated to teaching the art of visual storytelling, supporting Florida filmmakers and promoting film as a cultural and economic asset in the Tampa Bay area.
The Fort Harrison, a historic hotel originally built in 1926, is now owned by the Church of Scientology, is open to the community for charitable events. Groups who have utilized the Fort Harrison include the Clearwater Downtown Partnership, Ebony Awakening, Harlem Nights and the Krewe of Venus. It is located at 210 S. Fort Harrison Ave in Clearwater.
