Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Mark your entertainment calendar as Jazz Vocalist and popular song stylist Jerry Costanzo and his Trio will be performing at The Metropolitan Room on Sunday, November 11th, with show set at 7pm until 8:15 pm. Pianist Tim Rigusis, Bassist John Ray, and Drummer Ian Petillo will accompany Mr. Costanzo, lending their exceptional music talents to blend and compliment his fine song repertoire.

Jerry Costanzo and his Trio return to the Metropolitan Room in his new show "Come Swoon With Me" to pay tribute to his favorite crooning idols.  Jerry will sing signature standards from the legendary greats such as Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr. to name but a few.

With a hint of romance and just the right amount of swing, Mr. Costanzo's set at The Metropolitan Room will appeal to lovers of both jazz and popular standards. Songs such as "Destination Moon", "East Of The Sun (West Of The Moon)", "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps", and "Can't We Be Friends", from his two latest CD's, will also be featured.

Mr. Costanzo captivates his audience with his smooth superb voice and leaves his listeners snapping their fingers, tapping their toes and whistling these timeless songs as he continues his mission to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century.

The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 W22nd St (between 5th and 6th Ave) in New York City. The cover charge for the show is $20.00. Reservations are advised, call (212) 206-0440 or visit http://metropolitanroom.com/show_right.cfm?id=83756&cart

Jerry Costanzo and his Septet (Tedd Firth, Piano; Jennifer Vincent, Bass; Jimmy Madison, Drums; Joe Cohn, Guitar; Mark Sherman, Vibraphone; Andy Farber, sax; and Mike Carubia, Trumpet) just completed a very successful series of performances at Feinstein’s Lowe’s Regency and played 2 sets at Kitano Jazz to a packed house.

Mr. Costanzo also just released a hot, new swinging single, “Can I Steal A Little Love", which is currently airing on Long Island’s favorite radio station, WHLI 1100AM, as well as Radio stations worldwide. He updates the song “Can I Steal A Little Love” with a new arrangement by Andy Farber and backed by a 16-piece Big Band, adding a fresh vocal interpretation to Phil Tumienello’s lyrics.

Although he has the support of a full big band, through the wonder of multi-track recording, only 4 musicians actually played on the session. “Can I Steal A Little Love” showcases the fine talents of Andy Farber on all Saxophones and Piano, Brian Pereschi all Trumpets, Andrew Williams all Trombones and String Bass, with Jonathan Mele on Drums.

Mr. Costanzo’s latest CD, “Can’t We Be Friend's?” from Daywood Drive Records, includes favorite standards such as “East of the Sun”,  “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”, and “Penthouse Serenade.” All were featured on broadcast and internet radio nationwide, as well as New York’s own WHLI 1100AM, where he was spotlighted as “Artist of the Week.”

His first CD, “Destination Moon” as well as “Can’t We Be Friend's?” can be purchased via iTunes, Amazon and most digital distributors. “Can’t We Be Friend's?” is also available for purchase via Daywood Drive Records, http://shop.daywooddrive.com/album/cant-we-be-friends

“Can I Steal A Little Love” can be purchased via, iTunes, CD Baby   http://www.cdbaby.com/Search/amVycnkgY29zdGFuem8%3d/0  and most digital distributors.

“Costanzo’s ear is precise, his voice has a remarkable blend of velvet and timbre which adds a relaxed, convincing ease and a sense of humor to the exchange of vocals and band. His timing is natural. The songs live at their height behind these gifted interpretations. Happy to be featuring the music.”  Jeff Thomas, WUSB Stony Brook University
