PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 14, 2012 - To mark the 30th anniversary of the Falklands Conflict in 1982, Russell Phillips has given 30% of all sales "A Damn Close-Run Thing", his brief history of the conflict, to The Forgotten Heroes, a charity that provides quality information and assistance to wounded servicemen and women, as well as their families and carers. These donations have now surpassed £1,000.

On his decision to make the donations, Russell said: "I heard some time ago (around the time of the 25th anniversary commemorations) that twice as many veterans had killed themselves since the Falklands Conflict ended than died during it. I've heard similar things about other wars, and I find it a truly depressing statistic. Hopefully The Forgotten Heroes will be able to change that."

Forgotten Heroes Trustee Charley Downey expressed that: "We are very grateful to Russell for his generous donation, and we wish him every success with his book, which is a fantastic tribute to those brave men and women involved in the Falklands Conflict."

The ebook is available now from the following vendors:

About The Forgotten Heroes
The Forgotten Heroes is the only UK Forces Charity that benefits the carers of injured or wounded servicemen and women. Unlike any other Forces charity, The Forgotten Heroes will assist the carers of our wounded or injured from as far back as our living history goes. So in essence The Forgotten Heroes will assist any "non-professional" carer who is caring for their loved ones from the Great War of 1914 onwards to present day operations in Afghanistan.
