Women LEAD is launching its first Indiegogo Campaign to provide scholarships to 175 women leaders

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 27, 2012 - Women LEAD, a leadership development organization for young women in Nepal, is launching its first crowd funding campaign today. The goal of this campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/womenLEADnepal) is to provide scholarships for 175 youth to attend our leadership development program.

Only 20% of political leaders in the world are women. Women LEAD wants to change this ratio by building the capacity of female high school students to tackle poverty and discrimination. In 2011, we equipped 200 promising leaders (aged 14 to 19) with academic, career and leadership skills through our programs.

Our campaign is seeking scholarships for all of our young women leaders to be able to attend our leadership courses for free. During our leadership courses, the girls take on internships, start their own social entrepreneurship ventures, lead workshops in their own schools and launch advocacy campaigns in their communities.
