Online Resourcing shows the FIRM the ways of Online Recruitment

The Forum for In-house Recruitment Managers (FIRM) "“Building Resourcing Capability” conference took place on Friday 21st September at Centre Point London and Online Resourcing headed up an interactive online job advertisement workshop.

Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- In order to show recruiters that there is a real art to creating online job advertisements, Online Resourcing created a bespoke workshop for the FIRM dedicated to the dos and don’ts of online copy writing. The aim was to show just how easy it is to make an ideal online job advertisement and, equally, how easy it is to make a bad one.

Online Resourcing wanted to show recruiters that it is easy to have an excellently performing advert online with limited effort. Research proved that recruiters weren’t confident with online recruitment because they weren’t sure of the correct method of creating a appropriate advertisement.

Addressing this need for knowledge, Online Resourcing’s top tips to an excellent job advertisement included understanding that keywords are very important to the optimisation of an advert. The number of keywords is important, as is the distribution of the keywords. Another important factor is actually re-writing the job specification rather than copy and pasting it! Job specifications do not work online and need to be re-worded so that candidates can read them with ease.

Oliver Adderley, Managing Director at Online Resourcing, commented:

“It was great to get the opportunity to speak to an engaged group who really care about improving their company’s online recruitment experience. We aimed to educate in a matter of fact way so that companies can develop their online performance based on our own knowledge, expertise and experience in the field. It was a pleasure to work with the FIRM and look forward to continuing our relationship and extending any help we can”.

Keynote speakers included Andy Dolby from Write Research, Mervyn Dinnen and Mike Wall from Jobsite. Workshops were held by Tanya Stokoe from Coca Cola Enterprises, Stuart Jones from Omni, Katharine Robinson, Caroline Grayson from Coca Cola Enterprises, Carol O Driscoll from Archer Search, Tom Chesterton from Tonic, Matt Alder from Metashift and Grant Weinberg from Gilead Sciences, Sam Bailey from Jobsite, Mark Williams, Rachel Dalboth from Unilever and Adam Levene from Grapple.
