Club La Santa has a core focus this summer; to offer swim academies for children as well as provide specialised swim courses and a variety of other swimming instructions. It will also deliver a Stroke Correction Clinic that will incorporate a mixture of dry land instructions, pool time, a DVD, Club La Santa swimming hat, land training programme and technique evaluation sheet.
"Swimming is a big focus for us in 2012, so we decided this would be the ideal activity with which to implement our first Sports Science Program," Club La Santa's spokesperson said. "We'll be using sports science to help resort visitors to improve their techniques and performance levels, so they get even more enjoyment from swimming."
The second phase of the new launch will see Club La Santa extend the Sports Science Department to cover running and biking, with further expansion in planning.
"We're very excited about the opportunity to enhance our sports holidays with a new department that will allow participants of all abilities to get more from the activities they love," Club La Santa's spokesperson said. "While we're focusing on swimming this summer, we envisage sports science playing a major role in the future of the resort."
Sports science is the discipline of applying scientific principles to sporting techniques and incorporates psychology, physiology, biomechanics and motor control. It is commonly used in professional sport to help athletes achieve the best possible results.
