LED Global Corp begins installation of frosted lens LED tubes across parking garages in SoCal

Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Ms. Smith stated that the tubes will be significant upgrades to the garages’ lighting infrastructure that will provide substantial energy- and cost-savings while providing quality light to these garage spaces.  “These upgrades actually improve illumination levels of these areas which is particularly important in parking garages where safety is of the utmost concern,” she added.

The hundreds of tubes being installed will replace the traditional mercury-vapor florescent T8s.  “Our glare free and flicker free state of the art frosted lensing technology makes our LED tubes extremely unique in a market flooded with clear lens LED tubes” said Michael Anderson, Chief Technology Officer at LED Global Corp.  “In fact, to this day no one can tell our LED tubes apart from traditional fluorescent tubes, making them a big hit with our clients,” he added.

The tubes can be customized to any color temperature to suit clients’ needs, ranging from warm white at 3000k all the way to a 6000k cool white.  The tubes can vary in length from 2’ to 8’ although the ones being installed across all the parking garages are 4’ in length.  The voltage range is from 100 – 277V, making these tubes ideal not only for parking garages but also for interior lighting applications for schools, apartment and office buildings.  

The LED program is expected to achieve between $100,000 and $250,000 in annual energy and maintenance savings for each parking garage in fiscal year 2013.  The tubes have a life span of 100,000 hours and produce an annual energy savings of 60%.
