The top 10 photos selected by LVSSR staff will be posted on the resort’s Facebook page, where the public can vote for their favorite vintage image. Public voting is Oct. 19 through Oct. 26. The top three photos will be announced on Nov. 1.
The three winners will each receive two VIP passes to the swanky Who’s On Board 50th anniversary celebration on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at The Lady Silvia and Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art (900 S. Las Vegas Blvd.) in downtown Las Vegas. Winners must be 21 years or older to attend the event.
The VIP passes include entry to the red carpet affair where guests can hobnob with pro-skiers and snowboarders as well as former Olympic team athletes and enjoy complimentary cocktails and tapas. The evening includes a showcase and silent auction of art created by 50 local artists who were challenged to create unique pieces using snowboard cutouts as their canvases. Board will be auctioned off to benefit National Ski Patrol’s Lids on Kids and avalanche prevention programs, Outside Las Vegas Foundation and Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to the online contest, select images from Project 50: Vintage Pic Contest will be used for an “LVSSR Through the Years” video loop that will be shown at the event. Images may also be displayed at the resort in the base lodge and other buildings.
