FIAT of Los Angeles at Motor Village LA Confirms, 2013 FIAT 500 Gets Improved 31/40 MPG Rating

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 26, 2012 - FIAT of Los Angeles at Motor Village LA is pleased to confirm, the new 2013 FIAT 500 is able to claim an EPA estimated 40-mpg on the highway all in thanks to its 2013 model year tweaks which include powertrain optimization and the efficiency of the 1.4-liter MultiAir engine and five-speed manual transmission.
   
This better power and fuel efficiency will be standard on all FIAT 500 models, which include the 500 Pop, 500 Sport and 500 Lounge.

The manual transmission-equipped 2012 Fiat 500 was rated at 30-mpg city, 38-mpg highway while the new-and-improved 2013 Fiat 500 with a manual transmission gets 31-mpg city, 40-mpg highway. The bump in fuel economy is attributed to a taller final-drive gear ratio and improved aerodynamics. The automatic transmission-equipped 500s are still rated at the same 27-mpg city, 34-mpg highway.
   
As for the 2013 Fiat 500T with 135-hp, buyers can expect to get 28-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway.
