The Captain’s Meeting will take place on October 6.

Prizes will be awarded in the Recreational and Charter Boat Division. Five thousand dollars will be given for the heaviest striped bass in the Recreational Boat Division, with the second-heaviest striped bass being given $2,500 and $1,500 to the third-heaviest striped bass. A prize of $1,000 will be given to the heaviest bluefish over 10 lbs. (These payouts are based on a minimum of 60 entries. In the event there are fewer than 60 entries, the prize money will be adjusted accordingly.)

In the Charter Boat Division, 80 percent of the entry fees will be paid out in prize money. The angler with the heaviest striped bass will receive 50 percent of the prize money, and the second- and third-place winners will get 25 percent and 15 percent of the prize money, respectively. The one with the heaviest bluefish will get 10 percent of the prize money.

Last year (http://www.starislandyc.com/tournaments-past-results.php#...), 300 anglers and 77 boats participated in the two-day event, with over $52,000 in cash and prizes paid out. Todd Fontana aboard Bob Sztorc’s “Caprice” was last year’s winner with a striped bass of 46.6 lbs. The heaviest bluefish was caught by Rick Gulia aboard Hugh Chancey’s boat, “Mako 23” at 13.3 lbs.

Entry fee (http://www.starislandyc.com/entry-form-tournament-striped...) is $275 per recreational boat for up to four anglers ($50 for each additional angler).
