This year, the Big Bad Ball will be held Saturday, September 29 from 7p.m.-1a.m. at the Capital City Club in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $125 each and can be purchased through http://www.bigbadball.com.
The Big Bad Ball benefits Hospice of Wake County’s Benevolent Care Program and Horizons Grief Center. Hospice of Wake County extends assistance beyond Wake by serving Durham, Johnston, Harnett, and Franklin Counties. In 2011, hundreds of guests attended the annual event, and raised over $100,000. This amount of fund-raising translates into 667 days of care to patients without means. More than $1,000,000 has been raised through this event since 2001.
WRVA-FM’s Kitty Kinnin will be this year’s emcee and the Big Bad Ball is also featuring live music performed by tHE.DESIGN and The Casablanca Orchestra, a silent auction, door prizes from Fink’s Jewelers and a 50/50 raffle. There will be five open bars, a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres and a late night breakfast.
This year, Fink’s Jewelers is donating a Norman Silverman pendant that features a pear shaped diamond center stone of .50 carat weight with .19 carats of pave diamonds supporting, in 18 karat white gold, a $5,400 value. Fink’s Jewelers is also donating Norman Silverman drop earrings that feature 2 pear shaped center stones with .58 total weight and .39 carats of surrounding diamonds, in 18 karat white gold, a $5,100 value. Total value of both pieces exceeds $10,000.
