Kidloo.com partners with Milaap.org to bring clean drinking water to children

Prashanth Gowriraju, the CEO of Kidloo was introduced to Anoj Viswanathan, one of Milaap’s co-founders at an event in Bangalore, and they began to wonder how they could work together.  Gowriraju, who has always been passionate about children, was moved by the plight of those who walk for miles each day to fetch water. Their childhood was being snatched away from them, because ideally, they should’ve been at school, or just playing.

Enthused by Milaap’s efforts to bring clean drinking water to families in rural parts on Tamil Nadu, Gowriraju decided that Kidloo would join hands with Milaap to ensure that more children are back at school instead of walking miles for water. Through a simple button on Kidloo, Gowriraju has made it possible for parents who shop on Kidloo.com to be able to make a contribution to bring clean drinking water to children with as little as Rs. 250. Their contribution will help a family build a piped water connection at home and get access to clean water in the comfort of their homes.

Milaap places emphasis on ‘engaged giving’, and hence, people who contribute will receive emails with photographs and updates on who exactly their money has gone to. Together, Milaap and Kidloo hope to create awareness on the water situation in rural India. Through this campaign, they also hope that more children will have clean drinking water and that they will be back where they belong: in school, or just playing.
