Detroit’s Dodge Dart’s 2013 Lineup in August Adds to Rising Confidence of Auto Shoppers

The merger between Chrysler and Fiat continues to be working based on the number three automaker’s overall impressive comeback.

Sept. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Detroit, MI - Selling 3,045 units in August, the new Dodge Dart, main street’s classic, re-invented for the high-mileage coupe. The merger between Chrysler and Fiat continues to be working based on the number three automaker’s overall impressive comeback.

In the Chrysler 2011-sales cycle, a total of 148,472 units were sold, up a solid 14 percent from August 2011. For Chrysler, a company at the brink of demolition, this was excellent news. Maybe, it was the injection of Sergio Marchionne’s Italian management and the U.S. marketing flair.

The 2012 Dodge Dart is the first vehicle jointly designed with Fiat, its Italian owner. It is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Fiat’s European compact. However, it is wider and longer to appease American owners’ need for more space. The 2013 Dodge Dart is arguably the most anticipated vehicle of the year, according to analysts. Even before the Dart’s introduction at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the Dart had visceral electricity surrounding it.

The rise in auto sales is a sign of confidence for buyers and lenders. Cars are big-ticket purchases—$25,000, $30,000, $40,000. The majority of sales must be financed with either car loans or leases. Without the twin engines of available credit and shoppers’ willingness to assume financial obligations, two components that disappeared four years ago, there would be no recovery in auto sales.

Consumers who withdrew from the auto market are today looking for a 2013 auto with the help of lenders who have relaxed credit requirements.

On April 20, Chrysler announced that the Detroit Dodge Dart Lineup, the SE, SXT, Rallye, Limited and R/T models would range from about $16,000 to more than $22,500.  Dodge defines its Dart as the epitome of customization.  Shoppers have choices of 14 interior colors, 12 exterior colors, six wheel design options, three engine sizes and three transmissions.
