The women who attended this awesome retreat had great accolades about what they accomplished. This retreat was intended to help women who have experienced a transition to walk away at the end of the retreat feeling more excited about life and jumping out of bed with anticipation in the morning. One participant quoted, "I don't think you realize what you are doing here. You are making such a difference in my life. I know there are literally thousands of more women who could benefit from this. I want more women to know about this event and what you are doing here."
What makes a retreat like this successful? How can emotions of joy, happiness and friendship be measured? Just watching the faces of these women as they get to know one another and learn that many of their struggles are shared among the other women. Knowing someone else has the same difficulties and challenges in their life. Finding common ground to begin healing. Watching the face of a lady who is confiding in a horse, crying with a horse and loving that horse as he willingly takes on her pain. Knowing you're not alone.
Women who allow themselves to be transparent with other ladies they have never met takes courage. These women had the courage to step out there and take risks. This starts the healing process.
Friendships are formed and last even after these women depart from the retreat. Life feels a little lighter. The load has been lifted. Life goes on, but life goes on a little easier.
