igus to exhibit at Pack Expo 2012

Sept. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- New products for food processing, bottling, and packaging automation

igus® will be exhibiting at booth number E-7634 at Pack Expo 2012.  Products on show will include the company’s new iglide® knife-edge rollers, as well as new sizes of its compact DryLin® EasyTube lead-screw module for conveyor adjustments.

iglide® knife-edge rollers are used on conveyor belts in packaging, material handling, automation, and food processing applications. They save space compared with deflection rollers, which have a sliding as opposed to a rolling knife-edge. Another advantage of the iglide rolling versions is that they require less drive power, do not require lubrication, and offer a long life.

The knife-edge rollers are currently available in three high-performance plastic materials: universal iglide P210, FDA-compliant iglide A180 for temperatures up to 194 degrees Fahrenheit, and FDA compliant iglide A350 for temperatures up to 356 degrees Fahrenheit.

DryLin® EasyTube is an extremely compact solution which guides a lead-screw through an anodized-aluminum tube. The linear system requires no lubrication and its components are protected from dirt and dust. EasyTube is low friction and offers an excellent wear rate.

The company also now offers a full-range of robot cables, in addition to motor-cable assemblies. Meanwhile, new cable-guidance systems for automated applications, such as Guidefast, promise to halve installation and assembly time for gantry-packaging machines.

Other products at the show will include examples from igus’ line of FDA-compliant plastic bushings, ball bearings, linear guides, and continuous-flex cables and cable carriers.  

Pack Expo runs from October 28-31, 2012 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
