PRLog - Sep. 25, 2012 - Bryce Biggs of Bryce Biggs Consulting will be facilitating a session on Wednesday the 26th of September 2012 on “Use of social networking and other electronic media: its influence on learning in the 21st century.”

This will be at the annual Trainer’s Learning Network workshop which is for trainer’s in the Public Service and takes place at the Southern Sun, Elangeni Hotel, Durban on the 26th and 27th of September 2012.

Bryce facilitates across a range of soft skills, with a particular emphasis on change management, mentoring, and strategy, for several public service training institutions as well as for corporate and NGO (not-for-profit) clients.

Bryce will be highlighting the current status of social media and social learning and linking this to the important area of employee engagement. How – if at all - can social learning help to enhance levels of employee engagement in organisation's today?

The move from atoms to bits or “Move bits, not atoms” as Nicholas Negroponte described it in the 1990’s, taken together with the massive growth in social networks and the range of affordable social media, is driving a total revolution in learning.

Rapid uptake of tablet technology, cloud computing, together with declining broadband costs, all linked to a generation of “digital natives” (people who have interacting with digital technology from an early age), is leading to dramatic innovation in the field of learning. Much of this learning will be social in nature. Hence the next big disruption – the one that is gaining momentum in the education field at all levels.

A copy of the presentation will be posted to slideshare on Thursday the 27th of September 2012.
