China is world number one in both volume sales and quantity produced for metal forming machines. Historically, it has being known to be a market for low end machines, but there has being increasing interest in high end, machine with superior capabilities. There is firm emphasis for precision parts, with tight tolerances, to be produced with high efficiency, reliability and consistency. This has been primarily driven by the shortage of available labour in the market, as companies focus on higher quality parts with better margins.
Visitors were highly impressed and interested with the performance of Patec precision press machine. Blanking and precision forming that was previously thought to be achievable only in Fine Blanking machines or CNC turning machining is now possible with the more efficient mechanical stamping process.
"We setup a progressive stamping line, complete with feeder and leveller and stamped out precision parts to demonstrate to visitors the capabilities our machine. They are surprised with the quality of the finishing, the thickness of the material possible, and the stability of the forming. The enquiries are quite serious, most discussions go into much technical depth," said Sales Director, Mr Hiroyuki Hidaka.
Due to the slowing industrial demand in China, and the weak economies in Europe and USA, visitors are observed to be more relaxed this year. The mood is cautious but not pessimistic as observed in the Western markets. The general feeling is that the visitors are exploring to increase quality capabilities rather than simply increasing capacity.
"These are expert trade visitors. Patec Engineering Solution clearly improve productivity, and reduce cost; which is why the visitors are excited. We are going to be busy following up the enquiries generated. It is a very successful trade exhibition for us. We are especially happy to meet new friends here, and hopefully we will become business partners too!" added Zhang Pin, General Manager of Patec China.
