The 220 guests were welcomed by Ian Henley, Head of Corporate Banking in the UK and Europe at HSBC. He said the bank had supported international companies with ideas, access to markets, services and finance since it was founded by Sir Thomas Sutherland in Hong Kong in 1865, and he praised the company directors for their efforts. “The future of this country lies in international trade and investment.”
