“Bill has been such an important part of this firm,” said Lee Beall, CPA, Rea’s CEO, “and we’re so grateful for his years of dedication and service to Rea. Bill had a profound impact on our firm, our team and our clients during his time at Rea.”
Mills leaves office manager duties in the capable hands of Mark McKinley, CPA. His share of the Lima office’s 714 clients will be transferred to one of the Lima office’s seven other CPAs. “While we are sad to see him leave the profession, we are excited for (and a little jealous of) his new life on the beaches and golf courses of South Carolina,” said McKinley. “The whole Lima team is looking forward to stepping up to the plate and taking over where Bill left off.”
After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, Mills, a native of Zanesville, Ohio, joined Lucas Accounting in Cambridge, Ohio. Rea & Associates acquired Lucas in 1978. In 1984, Mills was asked to head up the firm’s newly acquired office in Lima. Mills specialized in accounting, tax planning and business consulting.
Mills and his wife, Brenda, live in Lima and will spend retirement in Isle of Palms, South Carolina. They have two children: Stephanie and Kristy.
