While studying at the nation’s premier law school in the area of trial advocacy, Mr. Pillsbury was given the opportunity to focus his skills as an up and coming trial lawyer. He was granted the opportunity to compete on the nation’s number one ranked Mock Trial Board in both his second and third academic years at Stetson. Jacob advocated in six different competitions as a member of the Mock Trial Board, including two national competitions sponsored by the American Association for Justice and the Lone Star Classic Invitational Trial Competition in San Antonio, Texas. He was also honored with the opportunity to intern for Civil Trial Judge Amy M. Williams of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County.
Stetson commended Mr. Pillsbury for his dedication to the school’s Excellence in Advocacy Center by granting him the opportunity to assist in teaching one of the school’s Trial Advocacy Courses during his third year. His supervisor, Adjunct Professor and Dolman Law Partner Christian A. Myer, noted Jacob’s dedication to trial practice throughout the course and decided to bring him to the firm as a legal clerk in February of 2012.
The Dolman Law Group’s Senior Partner Matthew A. Dolman stated, “Jacob is a great addition to our Civil Litigation team.” Partner Christian Myer added, “Jacob’s experience as an intern for Civil Trial Judge Amy M. Williams of the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Pinellas County will bring a wealth of experience to the Personal Injury cases that he handles”
