New York, NY – Carol Hollenbeck has spent the Summer connecting with readers of her latest novel True Blondes (www.TrueBlondesNY.Tumblr.com)
, at book festivals, literary conventions, and at local bookstore events throughout New York City, and has solid plans to continue to connect with readers into the Fall, in a very special way. The True Blondes author recently made a donation of her comedic novels to victims' services agency Safe Horizon (www.SafeHorizon.org)
to be made available to victims of abuse and those currently in local homeless shelters. Hollenbeck adds “I wanted to help give these beautiful women a book to read that will provide them a moment of entertainment, maybe even a laugh”. Carol Hollenbeck plans to continue donating her books and time to this organization in hopes of “spreading smiles”.
Safe Horizon is the largest victims' services agency in the United States, with 57 locations serving more than 250,000 children, adults, and families affected by crime and abuse throughout New York City each year. Since 1978, Safe Horizon has provided victims of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, rape and sexual assault, as well as homeless youth and families of homicide victims, with a wide range of comprehensive support.
True Blondes, the novel, explores a former beauty queen and gorgeous blonde Mandy and her life-battered friend, Diane, who wants nothing more than to reach the heights of success in show business. Their journey to self-discovery and stardom during the turbulent 1960s and 1970s takes them from New York City to Las Vegas and Hollywood.
